Four of the major rolling stock manufacturers have applied to participate in the procedure for delivery of new locomotives

Bombardier Transportation GmbH, Siemens Throne, Excelor-E.L. Consortium and Stadler Rail Valencia S.A. are the participants who have submitted an application for the procedure: "Delivery and warranty maintenance of 10 new electric locomotives for BDZ – Passengers EOOD".

That became clear at the official opening of the applications submitted within the announced deadline.

The interest shown by leading companies in the manufacture of rolling stock is a good sign in the efforts to improve the sustainability and quality of the service offered by BDZ - Passengers EOOD.

The estimated value of the contract is BGN 57 501 402,00 excluding VAT, and after examining the documentation of the applicants, the procedure will continue with the next stage of submission of technical and price offers.

The contract is scheduled to be implemented by the end of March 2020 and the estimated delivery of the first new locomotives shall be within 18 months after the signing of the contract.
