COMPLAINTS AND RETURNS OF TICKETS AND/OR RESERVATIONS
Refunds for completely unused tickets are made by the international ticket offices in the country:
- For tickets issued in the current month, refunds are made within the ticket's validity period, with a 10% fee;
- For tickets issued in previous months, refunds are made before the validity period begins, with a 10% fee.
The passenger or the person whose name is indicated in advance in the invoice at the time of purchase of the relevant tickets must submit a request for a refund, accompanied by the original tickets.
The amount for the reservation of a couchette or sleeping berth is refunded with a 10% fee up to 24 hours before the day of travel. On the day of travel and thereafter, no refunds are allowed for unused reservations.
Refunds for completely unused tickets from previous months, after the first day of their validity period, or for partially unused tickets, are made by the "Control and Statistics of Transport Revenue" department at BDZ Passengers, with a 15% fee. For this purpose, the passenger shall submit a standard application form (to be completed at the international ticket offices) and attach the original tickets with the relevant certification.
The application for a refund must be submitted no later than one month after the expiry of the ticket. If necessary, other documents (bus tickets, plane tickets, medical certificates, etc.) proving the right to a refund shall be attached to the application.
Applications, together with tickets, may be sent by post to the following address:
BDZ Passengers Ltd., Sofia, 1 Zavodska St., Transport Revenue Control and Statistics Department. Refunds may be refused if the ticket is damaged and the information is illegible.
The refund amount is calculated based on the fare for the route traveled.
