A series of Bulgarian mountains and peaks

The series featuring Bulgarian mountains and peaks is dedicated to the new ‘Skoda’ electric multiple units, which will serve key suburban destinations.

Each of the railcars is named after a mountain or peak in Bulgaria; you can find more information about all of them in this section. On each railcar, in addition to the name of the mountain or peak it bears, there is a QR code; when scanned with a smartphone, this will give you direct access to the ‘Bulgarian Mountains and Peaks’ series, where information about them is available.

The idea of naming multiple-unit trains after mountains and peaks is linked to promoting the abundance of national treasures that our country possesses.

The new ‘Skoda’ trains are of the RegioPanter type. Each train has 333 seats, a low-floor design, is equipped with wheelchair ramps and provides an accessible environment for people with reduced mobility. They also have space for bicycles and pushchairs. They are fitted with air conditioning, modern information systems, Wi-Fi connectivity, power sockets and USB ports, CCTV and state-of-the-art security systems.

The multiple-unit trains are equipped with an ETCS system for objective monitoring of the locomotive driver’s performance, as well as a system ensuring safe operation on Bulgaria’s railway infrastructure, which allows the train to reach its maximum speed of 160 km/h.
