Tickets and reservations are available for sale 2 (two) months in advance.
NOTE:
Given the upcoming repair works on the railway infrastructure on the territory of the Plovdiv railway junction, which will lead to adjustments in the routes and timetables of the international trains from Sofia to Halkali and back, the advance sale of tickets and reservations is limited to a certain period. After receiving official information from the National Railway Infrastructure Company regarding the scope, start date and duration of these repairs, we will publish the changes in a timely manner.
Reductions are not applicable for youths and return tickets. For group travel, a 20% discount on regular prices applies.
Tickets Plovdiv-Halkali-Plovdid and Dimitrovgrad-Halkali-Dimitrovgrad are also available.
VALIDITY OF TICKETS
- One-way ticket – 15 days
- Return ticket – 1 month
Validity begins on the date shown on the ticket. Passengers may start their trip on any day of validity but they must end it on a train which is scheduled to arrive at their destination by 24:00 on the last day of validity.
RETURN POLITICY
Refunds for completely unused tickets are made by the international ticket offices in the country:
- For tickets issued in the current month, refunds are made within the ticket's validity period, with a 10% fee;
- For tickets issued in previous months, refunds are made before the validity period begins, with a 10% fee.
The passenger or the person whose name is indicated in advance in the invoice at the time of purchase of the relevant tickets must submit a request for a refund, accompanied by the original tickets.
The amount for the reservation of a couchette or sleeping berth is refunded with a 10% fee up to 24 hours before the day of travel. On the day of travel and thereafter, no refunds are allowed for unused reservations.
Refunds for completely unused tickets from previous months, after the first day of their validity period, or for partially unused tickets, are made by the "Control and Statistics of Transport Revenue" department at BDZ Passengers, with a 15% fee. For this purpose, the passenger shall submit a standard application form (to be completed at the international ticket offices) and attach the original tickets with the relevant certification.
The application for a refund must be submitted no later than one month after the expiry of the ticket. If necessary, other documents (bus tickets, plane tickets, medical certificates, etc.) proving the right to a refund shall be attached to the application.
Applications, together with tickets, may be sent by post to the following address:
BDZ Passengers Ltd., Sofia, 1 Zavodska St., Transport Revenue Control and Statistics Department. Refunds may be refused if the ticket is damaged and the information is illegible.
The refund amount is calculated based on the fare for the route traveled.
