Travel with a 10% discount

When buying return tickets, a 10% discount is given off regular prices. This offer is given for traveling in all categories of trains. For children between 7 and 10 years of age, an additional 50% discount is given; however, a Child railway card must be produced.

Travel with a 15% discount

For small groups, consisting of 3 to 6 passengers, there is a 15 % discount from regular fares for one-way journeys. This offer is valid for traveling in all categories of trains. The discount is not applicable only for the routes, where zone fares are valid as the latter are in themselves preferential, i.e. discounted, fares.

Travel with a 20% discount

When buying return tickets, a 20% discount is given off regular prices along certain routes. This offer is given for traveling in fast and express trains. For children between 7 and 10 years of age an additional 50% discount is given, a Child railway card must be produced.

For travels in suburban zones within distances of up to 50 km on Saturdays, Sundays and official holidays, BDZ EAD offers holiday return tickets at a 20% discount. Holiday tickets are issued for travels on passenger trains. The term of validity of holiday tickets is until 24:00 of the last day of a holiday sequence (incl. Saturday and Sunday). For children between 7 and 10 years of age, an additional 50% discount is given; a Child railway card must be produced.

In the case of organized groups of travelers at least ten people and one guide, against a list with their names in two copies, they are entitled to traveling at a 20% discount off the regular price, and the ticket must be issued as a return ticket.

Travel with a 25% discount

Owners of passes Youth, Classic and Railcard "O" are entitled to purchasing passes at a 25% discount off regular prices. These passes are for traveling second class on fast and ordinary trains with a term of validity one or three months.

Travel with a 50% discount

Tickets with a 50% discount are offered to certain social groups (adults and students) in pursuance of the obligations for rendering public transport services by rail. For its permanent clients, BDZ offers a 50% discount off regular prices when traveling with railway cards. These also entitle the clients to buying route passes at discount prices on certain lines. These are offered to various age groups, families, disabled persons, etc.

Travel with a 75% discount

Entitled to a 75% discount are students up to the age of 26 when traveling as organized groups at least ten students and a person in charge.

Conditions of traveling a letter must be presented along with a list of the names in two copies with a date of birth, validated by a signature and a stamp by the educational institution. When students of different educational institutions are traveling, the list of names must contain the educational institution against the name of each participant in the group; the participants in the group must also present a student" railway card.

The accompanying persons traveling (persons in charge of the groups 1 such person for 10 students) are entitled to the discount given to the group.

Free travel

The following categories of passengers are entitled to free travel:

Children up to 7 years of age
Children are entitled to an unlimited number of trips for all categories of trains and have the right to a seat or a bed that they have to pay for
Conditions of travel - a document must be produced certifying the age of the child, and the child must be accompanied by an adult.

Traveling groups of children up to 7 years of age
Children up to 7 years of age are entitled to free traveling in all categories of trains and have the right to a seat or a bed that they have to pay for.
Conditions of traveling against a letter and a list of the names of the travelers in two copies with their dates of birth, validated with a signature and seal by an authorized official. The persons accompanying the group (1 with every 10 children) travel using the same conditions.

Disabled persons with a 71% disability or over 71% permanently reduced capacity (First and Second Group of Disability), war invalids, children with severe corporal and mental lesions, as well as their accompanying persons.
Disabled persons of this category are entitled to 2 free second class return tickets a year in fast and ordinary trains.
Conditions of traveling against a certificate of disability issued by the regional centres for social care and an identity card. Accompanying persons are entitled to free traveling only when they travel with the disabled people.

War veterans
War veterans are entitled to a limitless number of travels within the region they live in and to a return second class ticket for the whole country once a year in fast and ordinary rains.
Conditions of traveling a Certificate must be produced issued by the Military Archive in the city of Veliko Tarnovo and an identity card (a passport).

Holders of the Order of Valour
Holders of the Order of Valour are entitled to three free return travels per year, second class, in fast and ordinary trains.
Conditions of traveling against a certificate, issued by the Ministry of Defense and an identity card (passport).

Mothers with many children
Mothers with many children are entitled to a free return ticket once a year, second class in fast or ordinary trains.
Conditions of traveling against a certificate issued by the municipal centre for social care and an identity card.

Members of the Parliament
Members of the Parliament are entitled to a limitless number of travels in all categories of trains
