Engineer Kiril Kostadinov has been appointed manager of “BDZ Passengers” Ltd. under a management contract, pursuant to a decision by the Board of Directors of “Holding BDZ” Ltd.
His professional experience is entirely focused on rail transport in Bulgaria. He began his career as an assistant locomotive engineer at the Sofia Locomotive Depot. He worked as a locomotive engineer for over 14 years. During that time, he also served as a technician responsible for organizing the locomotive and operations personnel involved in the maintenance of the traction rolling stock.
He has many years of experience in organizing and managing safety oversight in rail transport at companies within the Bulgarian State Railways system and the State Enterprise “National Railway Infrastructure Company.” He served as Deputy Director General for Operations at the infrastructure company, after which he was appointed Director General of the “Railway Inspection” Directorate General at the “Railway Administration” Executive Agency, where he oversaw the activities of Bulgaria’s national railway safety authority. He was subsequently elected to the Board of Directors of “BDZ Holding” EAD, with primary responsibility for activities related to ensuring security and improving safety within the group’s companies.
Kiril Kostadinov, Eng., holds a master’s degree in “Business Administration” from the Technical University of Sofia. He obtained his locomotive engineer’s license at the “Todor Kableshkov” Higher National Military Transport School, where he studied railway engineering—specifically diesel locomotives—and earned a qualification as a transport engineer-operator. He studied “Transport Engineering and Technologies” at Angel Kanchev University of Ruse, where he earned a degree in mechanical engineering.
