Railway passes entitling the passenger to a discount:

- in internal travels

“CHILD" – this pass is issued to children aged 7 to 10 against a birth certificate. It entitles the child to buying tickets with a 50% reduction in price. The price of the pass is 1 lev and has a term of validity one year after the date of issue or reaching the age of 10 years.

“FAMILY" – this pass is issued to families having two or more children up to 18 years of age against an identity card of a parent and a document certifying the parent's right and the age of the children. It entitles the family to buying tickets with a 50% reduction in price. The price of the pass is 1 lev and has a term of validity one year after the date of issue or up to the date of one of the children turning 18.

“DISABLED" – this pass is issued to disabled people against a certificate of invalidity and an identity card. It entitles the disabled person to buying tickets and passes with a 50% reduction in price. The price of the pass is 1 lev and has a term of validity one year after the date of issue.

“YOUTH" – this pass is issued to young people up to 26 years of age against an identity card. It entitles the young person to buying tickets with a 50% reduction in price and passes with a 25% reduction in price. The price of the pass is 20 levs and has a term of validity one year after the date of issue.

“CLASSIC" – this pass is issued to the permanent clients of BDZ EAD against an identity card. It entitles the client to buying tickets with a 50% reduction in price and passes with a 25% reduction. The price of the pass is 30 levs and has a term of validity one year after the date of issue.

“STUDENT" – this pass is issued to students of all categories of schools and regular students at institutions of higher education up to the age of 26 against a certificate from the school, university and a student's book (for graduate post-graduate students). It entitles the student to buying tickets and passes with a 50% reduction in price. The price of the pass is 1 lev and has a term of validity one year after the date of issue.

“SENIOR CITIZEN" – this pass is issued to retired women over 60 years and 8 months  of age and men over 63 years and 8 months of age against an identity card and a Certificate for retirement. It entitles the holder to buying tickets and passes with a 50% reduction in price. The price of the pass is 1 lev and is valid for the life of the holder.
If a pensioner does not wish to buy a “Senior citizen" railway pass, he/she takes advantage of the same rights but against the presentation of the Certificate for retirement on every travel.
The “Senior citizen" railway pass is issued at the railway offices and in all stations with electronic issuing. For the city of Sofia , passes are issued at the following locations: Rout-pass Desk at Sofia Central Railway Station, ticket offices at the stations Podujane, Iskăr , Sofia-Sever (North), Kurilo, Zaharna fabrika, Gorna Banja and Bankja, as well as at the railway offices of the Rila International Passenger Bureau at the National Palace of Culture and at 5 Gurko Street .

- in internal and international travels

Railcard "О" – this pass is issued only against an identity card or an international passport and entitles the holder to buying tickets with a 50% reduction in price and passes with a 25% reduction in price while traveling within the country and to buying tickets with a 25% reduction in price in international travels. The price of the pass is 80 levs and has a term of validity one year after the date of issue.

- in international travels

Railcard “-26M" – this pass is issued to young people up to 26 years of age against an identity card or an international passport and entitles the holder to buying tickets with a 25% reduction in price in international travels. The price of the pass is 30 levs and has a term of validity one year after the date of issue or up to the date of the holder's becoming 26 years of age.

Railcard “S" – this pass is issued to persons (women and men) over 60 years of age against an identity card or an international passport and entitles the holder to buying tickets with a 25% reduction in price in international travels. The price of the pass is 30 levs and has a term of validity one year after the date of issue.
