Restoration of international train traffic

The service of international trains operating between Vidin and Craiova has been restored. The service of other international trains passing through the border crossings between Bulgaria, Romania and Serbia will reinstate gradually. The operation of international trains was suspended in connection with the measures taken against the spread of COVID-19.

Once the international fast trains 1090/1091 Vidin - Craiova - Vidin are already running, the service of other international trains will be gradually restored as follows:

  • From July 1, the international fast trains 1490/1491 Sofia-Belgrade-Sofia;
  • From July 6, the international fast trains 461/1095 and 460/1094 Bucharest - Russe - Sofia - Russe - Bucharest.

International trains that will not run yet are:

  • International fast trains 361/360 Sofia - Thessaloniki - Sofia, which maintain their service on the territory of the country in the section Sofia - Kulata - Sofia;
  • international fast trains 1461/1460 Sofia - Thessaloniki - Sofia, which operate only on Fridays from Sofia to Thessaloniki and on Sundays from Thessaloniki to Sofia.
  • International fast trains 493/492 Sofia - Istanbul - Sofia, which maintain their service on the territory of the country in the section Sofia - Svilengrad - Sofia.
